On the second sunday of every second month this year we will be pursuing relationships specifically across cultures. We desire to be a part of the work of racial and cultural reconciliation inside the church and in our city. Our hope is that we can begin by taking small simple steps, like joining other congregations for their worship service so that we can built relationships and unity with others in our city. Beginning February 11th, we will take second sundays to join two churches in our city for their worship service. The details for both are listed below, please join us for one or both if you are able.
Iglesia Cristiana Puerta del Cielo, 2:30 pm
2345 Elder Ave, North Charleston, SC (Sign on church building says “Resurrected Church of Jesus Christ”)
This service should last around 2 hours, the kids will be taken back to their classes around 3 pm, after the music. Dress is casual, like River Church. If you have any questions contact Chris Facello – 843-412-7274.
Morris Brown AME Church, 11 am
13 Morris Street, Charleston, SC (there is a parking lot behind the church off of St. Phillip St.)
The service will probably be around 2 hours. Plan to arrive a few minutes early, like at River Church, if you are dropping your kids off at the children’s classes. Dress will be more traditional than River Church. If you have any questions contact David Kite – 843-576-9899.
We are very excited about this opportunity and I hope you are too! We are looking forward to stepping out of our comfort zone and worshiping with others. I believe that God will teach us more about himself and the church as we do this, and I am excited to see our church continue to build relationship with these churches. The greatest unity in the world is in Christ. Please be praying for that morning as you are making your plans to come to one of both of these services. We look forward to seeing yall there!
