About Mike:
I have a wife (Whitney), a son (Will), a son on the way (due in July), and a yappy dog (that I have great disdain for). I was born in Atlanta, GA, but have lived all over the great state of Georgia while my dad served as a Senior Pastor of churches in NE GA, NW GA, & Savannah. I’m a huge lover of most sports (that allow you to use your hands), and currently dominate the frisbee golf circuit (when I’m not playing against Stephen Parris). In the fall, I pull unmercilessly for the Georgia Bulldogs. I am humbled and honored to serve Jesus by connecting people at River Church.

What is your secret ambition?
To play on the PGA Tour, however I would be more than happy to settle for playing in the Masters.

Name one thing that most people would be shocked to know that you’ve done?
Hit a golf ball more than 400 yards…you’ll see why that’s shocking when you meet me in person.

Have you ever gone cow-tipping?
Yep, I grew up in Paulding County, GA aka Farmville.

What’s your favorite movie?
Christmas Vacation.

Do you like to dance crazy when no one is looking?
Yes, if you were to hang around me w/out my knowledge you might think I’m the weirdest person on the planet.

At the beach would you rather play in the sand, or play in the water?
Sand, not much of a shark-lover.

Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
No.

What was your favorite pet you had as a child and why?

Stopped having favorites when they kept getting run over by cars.

Who or what inspires you and why?
Every believer who has made it their life’s mission to see the world changed for the sake of the Gospel.
